Jefferson County’s Jessica Goodman receives $25,000 Milken Award

Jessica Goodman, a kindergarten through 5th grade Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) teacher at Farmer Elementary School (Jefferson County), was celebrated on April 22 as the latest Kentucky educator to receive the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.

Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance offering free afterschool STEM education programs

The Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance (KYOSA) is taking steps to improve the quality of the future workforce in Kentucky for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and computer science careers by offering the online learning platform Learning Blade to afterschool and summer enrichment programs across Kentucky free of charge.

TVA offers STEM grants  in some Kentucky counties

Schools in 19 southwestern Kentucky counties are eligible for grants of up to $5,000 from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Applications for the TVA STEM Classroom Grant Program are open until Oct. 16.
