ACTE names Kentucky agriculture teacher as national award finalist

Kentucky’s national leadership in Career and Technical Education (CTE) was recognized recently with several awards presented at the Career Tech Vision 2016 Conference, and the accompanying conferences of the National Association of Agriculture Educators and the National Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Through a collaborative effort between schools in western Kentucky and Grace English School in Guatemala, several hundred Kentucky students are learning about Spanish language and culture, while more than 100 Guatemalan students are learning both written and spoken English.

When Ronnie Martin became principal at Caldwell County Elementary School this year, there was a program started the year before he was sure he wanted to keep. Student athletes from nearby Caldwell County High School visit the elementary school to mentor the younger students.
