The U.S. Department of Education (USED) has approved the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (APR ESSER) plan.
Kentucky’s superintendents and district finance officers received more information on requirements their districts must meet to receive the latest funding from the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER) during a Finance Officer Webcast on July 15.
Federal COVID-19 relief funds are bringing more than $3 billion to Kentucky’s educational system, and can be used flexibly to offset learning loss, improve technology and cover pandemic-related expenses.
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) should soon receive the final third of nearly $2 billion allocated to the state under the most recent round of American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding, superintendents were told during the June 8 Special Superintendents’ Webcast.
So far Kentucky has received two-thirds of the $2 billion it was allocated under the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funding, or ARP ESSER.
