(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE) Office of Continuous Improvement and Support and Cognia invite you to the annual Continuous Improvement Summit on Sept. 23-24 at the Central Bank Center in Lexington.

During this two-day event, participants will join thousands of educators across the Commonwealth to enhance their professional learning, make new connections and build upon existing relationships with peers across Kentucky, hear up-to-date information from KDE leaders, including an assessment and accountability update, and learn how Cognia can help address the unique challenges in the journey of continuous improvement. Sessions are designed for elementary and secondary educators, administrators and central office staff with a focus on continuous improvement at both the district and school levels.

Keynote speaker Marck Abraham, the author of “What Success Looks Like,” is a transformational leader with a wealth of experience in education. He is committed to providing a world-class educational experience that ensures all students achieve their goals of post-secondary college and fulfilling careers. His mission has been to create environments that assist students in reaching their maximum potential in life.

Sessions during the conference will include a variety of topics from data-driven decision making, high-quality career and technical education, community schools as an improvement strategy, the role of leaders in multi-tiered system of supports, amongst other timely topics. More details can be found on the 2024 Continuous Improvement Summit Schedule. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn from this year’s 16 Best Practice winners.

In 2013, KDE launched the Best Practices and Sustainability website, which is designed to serve as a clearinghouse to promote practices that motivate, engage and provide measurable results in student learning, achievement and school/district processes. The site supports teachers, administrators, district personnel and any other education advocates seeking strategies that have been proven successful in a variety of settings.

KDE has identified effective practices that improve student performance and promotes practices for educators with the goal of improving educational opportunities for all children. Any Kentucky teacher, school or district may submit a best practice to KDE for consideration to be a Best Practice award recipient.

Please join KDE and Cognia for an opportunity to explore a variety of topics and engage in conversations that will enrich understanding of continuous improvement. Visit the Continuous Improvement Summit webpage to register. To receive early bird pricing, please register before Sept. 2.
