Known around town as Nurse Nellie, Nellie Hewitt is the school nurse for Bedford Elementary School and Milton Elementary School in Trimble County. She has dealt with it all in her twelve years there, from fevers and head lice to choking emergencies. The love she has for her job is reflected in the children she helps. Students stop by just to say, “Hi.”
“They melt my heart every morning,” Hewitt said.
