Erin Ball, a language arts teacher at Georgetown Middle School (Scott County), recently began a semester-long ambassadorship with the Kentucky Department of Education. During this time, one of her goals is focusing on teacher recruitment – specifically minority teachers.

Jefferson County elementary students learning to Bloom through mindfulness

Cindy Plappert is a 20-year educator, the last 10 years being at Bloom Elementary. It was at Bloom where she began to implement mindfulness strategies, including calming breaths and periods of reflection, in her classroom because she noticed that some of her 3rd-grade students were struggling with anxiety.
