New Livingston County superintendent returns to his roots

David Meinschein, a Livingston Central High School graduate, returned home to begin his stint as superintendent on July 1. Meinschein succeeds Victor Zimmerman, who resigned on Feb. 9. Darryl Chittenden, who was superintendent until his retirement in 2015, took over as interim superintendent for Zimmerman.

2021 Kentucky Teacher of the Year launches Teachers Passing Notes project

Donnie Piercey’s life has been so consumed with helping his students survive COVID-era learning that he has had little time to think about much else. With the school year ending and a new opportunity on the horizon with the Kentucky Department of Education, he now has the chance to focus on his Teachers Passing Notes project.

Rockcastle County teacher’s CTE work wins national recognition

Growing up in Rockcastle County, teaching was never something Tammy Camel thought she would want to do. Now, she’s the winner of the 2021 National ACTE Carl Perkins Community Service Award for her work as a family and consumer sciences teacher at her alma mater, Rockcastle County High School.
