Kentucky Educational Television (KET) received two awards from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) at NETA’s recent annual professional development conference in Baltimore.
“News Quiz,” KET’s long-running current events program aimed at students in grades 4-8, won a 2016 NETA award in the instructional media – broadcast program category.
“Exploraciones,” KET’s new multimedia collection of online tools for teaching Spanish to young students, received a 2016 NETA award in the instructional media – teacher resource category. The resource collection is funded in part by the Kentucky Department of Education.
“We are thrilled that two of KET’s most popular instructional media resources have been honored by NETA,” KET Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Shae Hopkins said. “Resources like ‘News Quiz’ and ‘Exploraciones’ illustrate KET’s commitment to providing innovative, accessible educational tools to teachers throughout Kentucky and across the country.”
