Registration is open for the Vans Custom Culture Art Competition, in which students in grades 9-12 customize blank Vans shoes around specific themes. Americans for the Arts and Vans are encouraging high school students across the United States to embrace their creativity and inspire a new generation of youth culture.

Completed designs go through a voting process that narrows the entries down to 50, then to five finalists. Schools in the top five will be recognized at a national celebration in Los Angeles in June 2017, where judges will vote on the grand prize-winning submission, which receives $50,000 for its school’s art program.

Registration is open through Feb. 10; entries must be submitted March 1-April 10. Click here for more information.
