Blessings in a Backpack Louisville Chapter will be holding its 6th annual golf scramble fundraiser at the Wildwood Country Club at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 21. All event proceeds will help provide hunger-free weekends for local students within Jefferson County Public Schools.

The golf scramble will include lunch, a post-event reception, a silent auction and a visit from the military members who rode into Afghanistan on horseback to carry out an impossible mission during the early days after 9/11. After leaving military life, they created Horse Soldier Bourbon. Their story was recently told in the Warner Brothers’ movie “12 Strong.”
