Tim Zeiss, band director at Murray High School (Murray Independent), has been named the 2022-2023 Kentucky Music Education Association (KMEA) High School Teacher of the Year.

Zeiss is a veteran educator in his 15th year and 13th as band director at Murray High. He has received many other awards for his classroom instruction as well: KMEA 1st District Teacher of the Year twice, the Phi Beta Mu Young Band Director Award, McDonald’s Teach It Forward Outstanding Educator and more.

He will be publicly recognized on Feb. 10 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.
