The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is offering a collection of free resources about the Aug. 21 solar eclipse, which can be seen as a total eclipse in 25 Kentucky counties and as a partial eclipse in the balance of the state.
Among the items available is “An Observer’s Guide to Viewing the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse,” which provides information about the event and how to experience it safely. Other resources include NSTA journal articles with lessons and activities, NSTA Press books, virtual conference archives and the NASA eclipse website.
Educators also may register for a free webinar to be held 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 10 that will offer techniques for explaining the eclipse and the science behind it to students.
Visit NSTA’s website to access the list of resources.
