Schools in southeastern Kentucky may request up to $2,500 in funding through the Delta Dental Making Smiles Happen Arts in Education Initiative.
The program is designed to increase and reinforce opportunities for students across all grade levels. Through this initiative, students have access to the arts as a critical component of their overall education experience.
Funding is available to teachers to expand or enhance classroom instruction with field trips or in-school experiences offered by the Fund for the Arts Cultural Partners across all arts disciplines: drama, theater, music and visual arts. Each of the programs offered by the Fund for the Arts Cultural Partners is connected to the Kentucky Academic Standards.
Funding decisions are made based on demonstrated need, program cost per student and the value of the program as a supplement to classroom curriculum.
The application deadline is Dec. 14. Awards will be announced in January. Click here for more information or to apply. If this is the first time you are hearing of this opportunity, contact Kat Abner, impact officer at the Fund for the Arts, for more information and support on completing an application before the deadline.
