Join educators who are working to support teachers using the Literacy Design Collaborative framework at a two-day LDC Coaches Institute in Lexington.

The session is intended for teacher leaders, instructional coaches, and administrators who are working with other teachers on implementing LDC tasks and modules in science, social studies and English/language arts classrooms.

The institute will concentrate on effective communication and facilitation skills, providing feedback, data-driven instruction and process strategies that can be used in a variety of coaching roles.

The following topics also will be addressed:

  • Aligning the components of the LDC framework with the instructional shifts and demands of the Common Core
  • Creating a formative teaching and learning cycle with mini tasks
  • Moving from curriculum planning to implementation
  • Using student work to plan mini tasks and modules
