Registration for the 2nd annual Kentucky Continuous Improvement Summit: “Focusing on Best Practice to Close the Achievement Gap” that will be held Sept. 22-24 at the Lexington Convention Center closes on Sept. 16. Best practices from across the state will be highlighted and presented by Kentucky teachers and administrators.

Principal Baruti Kafele, one of the most sought-after speakers for transforming the attitudes of at-risk student populations in America, will be the keynote speaker.

Also, Ken Draut, Kentucky Department of Education, will present two breakout sessions on Sept. 22 that will provide an update on the latest assessment and accountability information. Specific topics to be addressed include the upcoming 2013-14 score release, the test schedule for the year, test security and practices, and discussion of both changes to the current accountability system and future thoughts about assessment with Districts of Innovation.
