Two Barren County High School students are participating in Service One Credit Union’s new Teller TRACK apprenticeship program.
Kelton Ladd, a junior, and Lauren Reeves, a senior, were selected from among five applicants for the program. The students will work part-time at the Glasgow branch during their internship.
Service One is the first in the state to offer the program developed by the Kentucky Credit Union League and the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. The program combines on-the-job training and work experience with specific classwork to prepare students for their future careers. Students who complete the two-year program will receive a nationally recognized certification.
“The availability of career-ready job applicants is one of the important issues facing businesses today, and we are pleased to pilot a program that prepares students today to join the workforce of tomorrow,” said Michelle Dyer, Service One’s senior vice president/chief operations officer.
Kelton Ladd is the son of Daphne Pierce and Lauren Reeves is the daughter of Kacie Reeves. Their business teacher at Barren County High School is Angela Rush.
