Students ages 15-18 are invited to enter the 2018 Spellman High Voltage Electronics Clean Tech Competition, an international research and design challenge for pre-college students that encourages scientific understanding of real-world issues and the integration of environmentally responsible energy sources.
The 2018 challenge, “Solving Climate Change,” asks students to develop a clean technology solution to the problems associated with climate change. Teams will consist of one to three students, are assisted by a team leader (such as a parent, teacher or mentor) and will develop a written proposal.
Ten finalist teams will receive $200 stipends and will be matched with a mentor to help them prepare a prototype presentation for the finalist event, where they will compete for a $10,000 grand prize and continued mentorship.
The registration deadline is March 16; the deadline for first-round paper submissions is April 13. Visit the Clean Tech Competition website for more information.
Thank you for writing about this Mike! It is my sincere wish to have as many teams from as many states and different countries as possible and I hope that we see teams from Kentucky in the Competition this year!
