YoungArts is now accepting applications for its 2017 national arts competition, which offers students up to $10,000 in cash awards, mentorship and professional support, and opportunities to take master classes taught by accomplished artists.
U.S. student artists ages 15-18, working in a wide-range of disciplines – including dance, theater, visual arts and writing, among others – are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is Oct. 13.
Kentucky students taking awards in the 2017 competition are:
- Ethan Mooney, Tates Creek Senior High School (Fayette County), Honorable Mention for Popular Voice;
- Grace Sheene, Danville High School (Danville Independent), Honorable Mention for Popular Voice; and
- Morgan Betsill, DuPont Manual High School (Jefferson County), Merit for Visual Arts.
