Kim Sword, the STEM lab teacher at William Wells Brown Elementary School (Fayette County), has been named the 2016 Elementary School Science Teacher of the Year by the Kentucky Science Teachers Association. She was honored Nov. 11 at the KSTA annual conference in Lexington.
Sword earned a bachelor’s degree from Midway College and a master’s degree from Georgetown College. She has taught in Fayette County schools for nine years, including eight at William Wells Brown.
