The Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA) is giving teachers the opportunity to study in Scotland June 23-July 8, 2017, and to earn college credit hours in a variety of subjects.
The two-week program offers classes that explore various aspects of Scotland’s past and present and includes visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands. Participants can earn graduate or undergraduate credit in biology, business management, education/geography, geology, history or theater/interdisciplinary in courses taught by faculty members from Bellarmine, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky and Western Kentucky universities and Thomas More College.
The program is open to any and all participants. Those 26 years of age or above may take any course for non-credit (audit). For those that wish to receive credit for the course, there are two paths:
- For those currently registered at a U.S. accredited higher education institution, participants will mark their home school as “other/not listed” and be admitted to Western Kentucky University as a visiting, non-degree seeking students. WKU waives all tuition and entrance fees for these participants, with the exception of a $100 transcript fee. Participants are guided through this process in the CCSA applications portal.
- Those not currently registered at a university can apply through WKU as non-degree seeking. We will then be able to grant them credit for the course. Participants will pay a $45 admissions fee in addition to the $100 fee for the transcript.
