“Statistical Content for the Common Core,” a workshop sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Council of Teachers of Mathematics, will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood.

The workshop – presented by Brooke Buckley, Jackie Wroughton and Northern Kentucky University student Danielle Hoffman – will present content, pedagogy and activities dealing with statistical concepts. Participants can learn about sampling distributions through “The Gettysburg Address;” discover randomization-based hypothesis testing through a “Mythbusters” experiment or become a kid again while playing with a balloon to predict how long it will take it to fall based on linear regression.
